# Set up SSO

> Single sign-on (SSO) **can't be set up from within the Awell applications**. Awell configures it on
> request, so the first step is a support email rather than a settings page.

## 1. Contact Awell [#1-contact-awell]

Email [support@awellhealth.com](mailto:support@awellhealth.com) to request SSO, and include:

* the organization's name
* the name of the identity provider (IdP), for example Okta or Google

## 2. Gather the integration details [#2-gather-the-integration-details]

Setup means configuring the IdP and coordinating with Awell. Awell needs the IdP metadata, which
typically includes the IdP URL and the certificate used for SSO, to establish the connection.

Awell sends back the values to enter on the IdP side, which differ by provider:

| Provider | Awell provides                       |
| -------- | ------------------------------------ |
| Google   | ACS URL, Entity ID                   |
| Okta     | ACS URL, Audience URI, Connection ID |

## Other SAML providers are supported on request [#other-saml-providers-are-supported-on-request]

Google Workspace and Okta have step-by-step guides. Other providers that use Security Assertion Markup
Language (SAML) are generally supported; ask when making the request.
