A message can carry media inline in the text or as an attachment.

## Inline media keeps the reader in one pane [#inline-media-keeps-the-reader-in-one-pane]

Embed images and videos inside the message text, so the reader stays in one place. A direct link can go
inline too.

Upload the file, or point at something already online.

> Use the video's **embedded** link, not its page link. A normal share link won't display, and nothing
> warns about it beforehand.

Embedded videos don't work in email. Use them in
[in-app messages](/docs/design-care-flows/add-and-configure-an-in-app-message) only.

## Attachments appear at the bottom of the message [#attachments-appear-at-the-bottom-of-the-message]

Share files, videos and links as attachments. Upload the file or point at an online version, and give
it a sensible display name.

The recipient sees the display name, so "Pre-surgery checklist" beats "final\_v3.pdf".
