Prefill form fields
Pull up a patient's earlier answers to the same form and revise what changed, instead of completing a long form from scratch.
A long care flow collects the same form more than once: initial diagnosis, treatment options, review after review. Filling it in from scratch each time costs clinical time and invites transcription errors.
Form prefill pulls up an earlier submission of the same form, so only what changed needs editing.
Use form prefill
Start from the patient's activity feed, reached by reviewing activities or following up on pending activities.
Then:
- Select the form activity with Complete form, or pick the pending activity in the side pane.
- Choose to prefill from an earlier submission of the same form.
- Review each answer and change what's different.
Review every prefilled answer before submitting
Prefill carries forward whatever was true last time. A prefilled answer submits with the rest of the form, so an out-of-date value is saved unless the stakeholder corrects it.
Read every prefilled answer, particularly anything the care flow branches on.
