Tips for building faster

Small habits that save time in Studio, from keyboard shortcuts to reusing questions and steps you have already built.

None of these change what a care flow does, only how long it takes to build one.

Double-click to edit, instead of the three-dot menu

Double-click a step to open its context menu. The same works for actions and sticky notes.

See Create and name a step.

Save a step to the library once it appears in two tracks

A saved step means one version to maintain rather than three that drift apart, so save it instead of rebuilding or copying it.

See Add steps to your step library.

Check the question library before writing a question

Validated questionnaires come ready to work with their matching calculation, which saves both the typing and the wiring.

See Import and export form questions.

Paste answer values across questions that share a scale

Paste the values instead of retyping them, which saves keystrokes and avoids typos in values the logic depends on.

See Edit a form's questions.

Draft a long questionnaire in the spreadsheet template

For a long form, especially one several people contribute to, write the questions in Awell's Google Sheets template and import the result, which is usually faster than working question by question in the builder.
